I live in SoCal and am always concerned about how easily a fire can start up ... anywhere.

I'm also concerned that we can't grow new trees and vegetation fast enough to make up for all that is being lost.

We had a chemical plant fire here Monday, close to our downtown area. Fortunately I didn't hear about any workers there on the holiday. They evacuated a few square miles of homes in that area.

We live about 20 miles north of that area so we didn't see anything like your picture here. From roof TV Cameras, it too was a big ball of flames. Glad it happened on a holiday when no workers were in the building. Haven't seen any news updates, so I am thinking nobody was injured.

@hckynutjohn    Its really quite alarming when big fire occur close to the center of a city with so many people in close proximity.  Fortunately fire departments get on them really fast and hard.
