Was talking to my husband about the Paula Deen story last night.

I find the dynamics of this story very........interesting. I think she was one of the "stars" that really made Food Network much bigger. Like it or not, her shows were very popular. She added something different, as all the "celebrity" chefs did. She could be very funny, and some enjoyed seeing her style of cooking.

I have seen so many attacks on her. They seem to center on her style of cooking. I don't know why people just didn't watch her if they disapproved of her style. It was not "health" food, but not everything on there was either. People really amped it up when she became diabetic and represented a diabetes medication. She DID lose weight, and acknowledged her weight and style of cooking may have led to diabetes.

I find it very interesting that some "scandals" are tried to be understood, and others get you shunned for good. I am thinking of Bill Clinton, Antony Weiner, Marion Barry, Mark Sanford, Richard Nixon, so many others. Some scandals are forgiven. I find the dynamics of this one different somehow.
