Glad I posted this to help others in the process I have learned stuff for myself.

Unbelievable now days.  Looks like your ****** if you do and ***** if you don't in this day and age.

I feel sorry for the old and not up on stuff people. Their lambs to the slaughter .  My husband is at the head of the pack for being trusting and naive.  He would give away our whole portfolio if somebody claimed to be from a religious organization. LOL

I try to control the mail, but, he runs to the mailbox first.

Pray for me. LOL

@SharkE

Its better to be safe than sorry and that adage applies doubly these days.....

And your not being paranoid, your being DILIGENT!!!

And yes now the scammers spoof local numbers so you can't tell where the call actually orignates from---some fraudsters are overseas)...and one might be your very own number they spoof---the things they think of!!!

I feel sorry for elderly and/or seniors (well, everyone) who practically trip and/or fall, trying to rush to their landline/cell phones.   Not everyone carries their cell phones around with them in their homes.  Some folks (myself included) don't always have pockets to carry their cell phones all around the house.  I'm always hinting to folks I know to 'forget it', when their phones are ringing.  Just take their time and don't worry about missing a call.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

yeah, my sister who cleans business places dropped her mop to run to the phone and the quick sudden movement popped her knee.

Now, she says let it ring if it's important they will call back. Takes her time

LOL

You were suspicious of the call and you hung up.  That was the right thing to do.  So, what's the big deal?  You don't if it was a scam or if someone was trying to sell you something of it really was Humana.  Not that it matters, I'd have hung up too but I'd have forgot about it 30 seconds after it happened.  It was big nothing.

Seriously, folks - ya need to just stop answering these calls.  The more you answer them the more that your number is salable to more scam artists.  That's the way that works.

If you don't answer them and, if you hve the capability, hit the 'block' button on your phone, you will get WAY less calls.   I haven't gotten one for quite a few days now (now that I'm thinking about it) but I might get one in a day and then several days without any.

I also think that nomorobo cuts that number drastically.  So, if you've checked and your carrier isn't compatible, keep checking!    Mine wasn't at one point and then it was.  It stops a LOT of these kinds of calls.
