God values us so much that He gave us all that He has; His Son Jesus.
Show that you value Him, too, by putting Him first in all aspects of your
life. Lord, when I put You first in my life, order and peace follow.
Scripture for the day:
"Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; O LORD, heal me, for my
bones are shaking with terror. My soul also is struck with terror, while
you, O LORD--how long? Turn, O LORD, save my life; deliver me for the sake
of your steadfast love." ~Psalm 6:2-4
Meditation for the day:
I believe that all sacrifice and all suffering is of value to me. When I am
in pain, I am often tested. Can I trust in God, not matter how I feel? Can
I say, "Your will be done," no matter how much I am defeated? If I can do
these things, my faith is real and practical. It can work in bad times as
well as in good times. God's will can work in a way that is beyond my
finite mind to understand, but I can still trust in it.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may take my suffering in my stride. I pray that I may accept
pain and defeat as they come, and grow spiritually as I receive God's
strength to make it through.
Hello my friends! That sure is the truth when we put Jesus first in our
lives, order and peace follow. Let us never forget that. Today I had lots
of blessings - No more pain pills all day, first day without since the oral
surgery Dec. 26th. I celebrated it a little with a little wine with supper
which Linus made! Went along shopping today - got some new meds at petsmart
for Sam, that is NOT liver coated, he hates it too. So that is going back
tomorrow. Maybe we should try the Greenies for joints. Don't know of the
quality though. He does like greenies though. Such a fussy boy, he is! We've
found that the beef pockets will work with putting butter on it - with his
glucosome med. Anyone else have trouble with giving meds to dogs? Fussy
ones? Another blessing - I accidently hit the wrong click and got Firefox
instead of Chrome being my default - that was hard to know how to get that
back after trying different things etc. Finally I got smart and said a
prayer and right away found out that I could click on the Chrome icon on the
desktop, and then it says Chrome is not your default - do you want it to be,
so I clicked yes, and poof! Got it right back - or I'd be in the same boat
with this thread - like last time. Firefox won't work here on the Q anymore
for me. Another blessing - nice and peaceful here today - went to Mass this
morning, visited with friends, and played some scrabble with friends on
Facebook. God is good and He's always in charge. Let's let Him always be in
charge of our lives. Praying for you all, and thanks for your prayers for
us.
7 Ups For Friendship
1. Open Up.
Be honest, open and candid (tempered with kindness).
2. Stand Up.
For your friends, whether they are there or not.
3. Put Up.
Give your friend the freedom to be imperfect (like you!).
4. Speak Up.
Say what you feel; be generous with sincere (public/private) praise.
5. Show Up.
Be there; do what you say you'll do.
6. Make Up.
Don't hold a grudge; be the first to say, "I'm sorry, please forgive me."
7. Re-Up.
Take inventory and re-commit yourself to the friendship often.
Pass this on to all your friends...

A Lesson in Life
Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of
good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and
sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these
small tests, if they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be
like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.
If someone hurts you, betrays you , or breaks you heart forgive them. For
they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious
to who you open your heart to.
If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they
love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart
and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.
Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything
that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.
Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Hold
your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great
individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no
one else will believe in you either.
You can make of your life anything you would like it to be by simply knowing
that God is the giver of life, and that He created you to live life to its
fullest, so go out and live it.
God bless you in every way! Look for your blessings - they are there!!!
Dear Lord Jesus
As I go about my housework
Let me see each job I do,
As a service for my King
And a way of loving You.
Let me wash away my judgments
Of others right or wrong,
As I wash up the dishes
Place within my heart a song.
As I clean up little fingerprints
And lots of muddy shoes,
May I remember how you cleaned the feet
Of the loved ones you did choose.
As I mend up torn pajamas
And sew a button on,
Show me where I need to mend a breech
That's gone on far too long.
Let me tidy up my thoughts
As I tidy up the toys,
Let me sweep away my fears
Like the dirt from little boys.
May I be just as quick with my forgiveness
As I am with mop and broom,
Sweeping up the clutter
In my heart and living room.
May I rinse out pride and ego
As I rinse the bathtub out,
And while we are at it Lord
Let's take care of anger, hate and doubt.
Please remind me often Lord
That the way I'm called to serve,
Is an honor given me
And not below what I deserve.
You know Lord, as I look
At all the work we need to do,
I think we'd better house clean
At least each day or two.
Happy New Year From God
Happy New Year--this is God.
This year, as with every year, I will be handling all of your problems.
Please remember, I do not need your help.
If the devil happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle,
do not attempt to resolve it.
Kindly put it all in the SFJTD BOX (Something for Jesus to Do). It will be
addressed in my time, not yours.
Please be patient. Once the matter has been placed in the box, do not hold
onto it.
Do not become impatient and take it back to see if you can find a solution.
Holding on or removal will delay the resolution of your problem.
You must surrender the problem to Me for proper resolution.
If a situation you think you cannot handle arises, please consult Me in
prayer. Together we will come up with proper resolution.
If you do not receive what you anticipate as proper response from Me,
remember--some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayer.
Because I do not sleep, there is no need for you to lose any.
Rest, my child...if you need Me, I am but a prayer away.

Dear Lord,
We pray that this new year will bring us closer to You.
May we take the time to get to know You.
Help us to truly celebrate the gifts You have graciously given us
and use them to serve You and spread Your word,
May we also see and love you in all the people we meet,
so that in turn, they can see You in us.
We know that all human relations take time if they are to grow and deepen.
This is also true of our relations with You, the Father and the Holy Spirit,
which must grow over the course of our lives. In this new year, let us
realise that every action of ours no matter how great or small enables us to
be in touch with You.
Let us accept You in our lives, in the way it pleases You,
as Truth, to be spoken,
as Life, to be lived,
as Light, to be lighted,
as Love, to be followed,
as Joy, to be given,
as Peace, to be spread about,
as Sacrifice, to be offered among our relatives, friends, neighbours and all
people.
Amen

you.
