Meditation for the day:

We can try saying: "God bless him (or her)" of anyone who is in disharmony
with us. We may also say it of those who are in trouble through their own
fault. We can say it, willing that showers of blessings may fall upon them.
We can let God do the blessing. We can leave to God any necessary
correction or discipline. We can desire only blessing for them. We can
leave God's work to God. We can occupy ourselves with the tasks that God
gives us to do. God's blessing can also break down all our own difficulties
and build up all our successes.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may use God's goodness so that it will be a blessing to
others. I pray that I may accept God's blessing so that I will have
harmony, beauty, joy and happiness.

Hello my friends! Today I have good news about my health!! I woke up this
morning at 5:45 with a coughing spell, but it didn't last, and I haven't
coughed all day. My nap this afternoon was peaceful as was my whole night
last night!!! What a blessing!!! Went to the Doctor this morning - got some
cough med with codeine, and some gel tabs, that are in place of cough drops,
and all on prescription. I haven't had to open either yet, as I didn't have
any more spells. It was a very good thing Linus was with me in the room
with the doctor so he could tell him how I act when I have these attacks,
things I didn't even know. That my face gets red, and with my catching my
breath etc. makes him very scared. I believe that I am now on the mend.
Linus is feeling much better too now - he called in sick again today, and
rested. Today after the appointment we went out to eat at Perkins for
lunch - while my prescriptions were being filled, I had the butterball
turkey - he had pancakes, and it felt so good to eat a decent meal that I
didn't have to cook. I am so grateful to God for my health to return and
his, and I thank you all for your prayers for us!!! Praying for your
intentions also.

I am not going to wait until the pain in my body disappears, I am thanking
you right now.

I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves, I am going to
thank you right now.

I am not going to wait until the children are asleep and the house is quiet,
I am going to thank you right now.

I am not going to wait until I get promoted at work or until I get a the
job, I am going to thank you right now.

I am not going to wait until I understand every experience in my life that
has caused me pain or grief, I am going thank you right now.

I am not going to wait until the journey gets easier or the challenges are
removed. I am thanking you right now.

I am thanking you because I am alive. I am thanking you because I made it
through the day's difficulties. I am thanking you because I have walked
around the obstacles.

I am thanking you because I have the ability and the opportunity to do more
and do better. I am thanking you because you have not given up on me. I am
thanking you because you have brought me from a mighty long way.

God is just so good, and he's good all the time. Send this message to

TAX ASSESSOR

A tax assessor came one day to a poor pastor to determine the amount of
taxes the pastor would have to pay. The following conversation took place;

"What property do you possess?" asked the assessor.

"I am a very wealthy man," replied the minister.

"List your possessions, please," the assessor instructed.

"First, I have everlasting life (John 3:16).

"Second, I have a mansion in heaven (John 14:2).

"Third, I have peace that passeth understanding (Philippians 4:7).

"Fourth, I have joy unspeakable (1 Peter 1:8).

"Fifth, I have divine love which never faileth (1 Corinthians 13:8).

"Sixth, I have a faithful precious wife (Proverbs 31:10).

"Seventh, I have healthy, happy obedient children (Exodus 20:12).

"Eighth, I have true, loyal friend (Proverbs 18:24).

"Ninth, I have songs in the night (Psalms 42:8).

"Tenth, I have a crown of life (James 1:12)."

The tax assessor closed his book, and said, "Truly you are a very rich man,
but your wealth is not subject to taxation.

"Brighten" The Corner Where You Are

We cannot all be famous, or be listed in "Who's Who",
But every person, great or small, has important work to do,
For seldom do we realize the importance of small deeds
Or to what degree of greatness unnoticed kindness leads.

For it's not the big celebrity in a world of fame and praise,
But it's doing unpretentiously in an undistinguished way,
The work that God assigned to us, unimportant as it seems,
That makes our task outstanding and brings reality to dreams.

So do not sit and idly wish for wider, new dimensions
where you can put in practice your many good intentions.
But at the spot God placed you begin at once to do
Little things to brighten up the lives surrounding you.

If everybody brightened up the spot where they're standing
By being more considerate and a little less demanding,
This dark old world would very soon eclipse the evening star
If everybody brightened up the corner where they are!

WALK IN STRIDE

The most creative power given to the human spirit is the power to heal the
wounds of a past it cannot change.

We do our forgiving alone inside our hearts and minds; what happens to the
people we forgive depends on them. The first person to benefit from
forgiving is the one who does it.

Forgiving happens in three stages: we rediscover the humanity of the person
who wronged us; we surrender our right to get even; and we wish that person
well.

Forgiving is a journey; the deeper the wound, the longer the journey.
Waiting for someone to repent before we forgive is to surrender our future
to the person who wronged us.

Forgiving is not a way to avoid pain but to heal the pain.

Forgiving someone who breaks a trust does not mean that we give him his job
back.

Forgiving is the only way to be fair to ourselves.

Forgivers are not doormats; to forgive a person is not a signal that we are
willing to put up with what he does.

Forgiving is essential; talking about it is optional. When we forgive, we
set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner we set free is us.

When we forgive we walk in stride with the forgiving God.

Today I smiled, and all at once
things didn't look so bad.
