San Jose Bans Plastic Bags

Starting January 1, 2012 all retailers in San Jose, CA will no longer use plastic bags. There will be a 10 cent fee for paper bags. You now must bring your own bag. What about stores like Macy's and Nordstrom. Will they be charging for paper shopping bags also?
