This is the area I lived in when attending high school.  It sure looks green to me despite a 2 day only watering schedule.  The google street view is dated April 2015!!

Yes, I mention that.  The 2 day watering restrictions has been in place since 2011 and a number of people have been saying that their lawns are brown in So CA.

San Diego County Water Authority dated April 28, 2011:

April 28, 2011 - Significant improvements in this year’s weather and water storage led the San Diego County Water Authority Board of Directors today to end mandatory urban and agricultural water supply cutbacks and to lift the agency’s regionwide call for mandatory water use restrictions.

Well that's odd smaug.  How many days per week are you allowed to water now?

It is currently 2 days. This is fairly recent though. We've had voluntary for a long time.

That's good info. I believe most everyone received pamphlets in the mail as well. I don't have grass anymore and almost all of my plants are drought resistant. I think (or hope) most everyone in San Diego knew mandatory water restrictions were coming. And fortunately the state had provided incentives in the form of partial rebates to those who replaced their grass with artificial or pavers.

Our watering schedule

Summer: May 1st to August 31st  Any Day with time of day restrictions:  No watering between 11am and 7pm

Fall Schedule: Sept 1st to Oct 31st Watering allowed only on Tues, Thurs and Sat

Winter Schedule: Nov 1st to Feb 28th Watering allowed only on Thurs

Spring Schedule: March 1st to April 30th  Watering allowed on Tues, Thurs and Sat
