To my surprise he's criticizing his former network for basically doing fluff pieces and wanted to see them do more serious news stories in the morning. I was sorry to see that, first, I liked Sam on GMA, but I don't like people who burn bridges; second, I enjoy GMA, we hear hard, depressing news all day long, and I enjoy some entertainment to start my day; and finally, is he really going to make the serious contribution to the morning shows he's talking about by doing weather related stories for the Weather Channel? Are that many people into the WC each morning to have the time and be riveted to watching a story about the effects of climate change on growing corn in Kansas, or would they rather listen to a fluff piece about Jennifer Aniston's latest role? Personally, I don't WATCH GMA, as much as listen to it when I'm getting ready in the morning anyway, and I think many people enjoy their morning shows that way. Sorry, Sam, you did what made you happy, you get to talk weather with Jim Cantori, but I think you made a big mistake by leaving GMA.
I cannot find anything on the internet about his talking bad about NBC.

I'm secretly tired of all of the bad news, and appreciate a bit of 'fl*ff' to start out my day halfway cheerful.

they, gma and today, have 4-5 people regurgitating the internet. they don't even fact check. enough of the witty banter, too.

I really enjoyed Sam Champion. And I used to enjoy GMA. It seems like the format changed completely once Lara Spencer arrived. Now it's mostly fluff with occasional snippets of news. And I, too, wonder why it takes to many talking heads to "host" the show? Not the GMA that I used to enjoy watching. Now I tend to do some channel hopping during the morning shows.

My bad LOL. I knew he was on ABC and not NBC. One of those moments. I will go look. Thanks.

I remember reading Sam Champion wanted his own weather series on GMA, not just his daily weather reports.
I also remember him posing in a revealing Speedo.

I agree with Sam Champion re the direction GMA has taken. George Stephanopolous needs to get out of there. I watch the first 15 -20 minutes, then no more for me.
I thought I would miss Sam Champion, but I really like Ginger Zee. But like I said, 15 - 20 minutes tops. I used to really enjoy GMA, in my opinion it's just awful now.
