I dearly love salmon...if prepared my someone else.
Believe I have pretty much clued everyone on the boards I use to try and cook different types of foods, but with salmon, I have to be doing something far >>>OUT incorrect from the chefs, here.
Since I have no brother going [wild caught salmon fishing] in Alaska, I buy the large fillet piece around $20.00. Of course the advertisement says: Wild caught.
Salmon always falls to shreds when I flip it over. Served in pieces.
Now that I have our new bells & whistles Convection ++ all the needed cookware, I'll try broiling instead of the fry pan.
I love fish. Tilapia, and some deli FRESH others, w/o large bones.
I stay far from COD. Smelly to me.
Salmon and green vegetables I could live on.
It's worth every penny to me due to its Omega count and the NON globs of fat from any other meats. WE 'are' almost 90% meatless.
AND! No adversity to farm raised. I do know enough about the additives. Very rare I buy there. Sealed fresh with 0 everything- next to the deli is the best if available.
There are FRESH fish markets 40 minutes from here, so now we are eating 5 out of 7 meals having fish.
@YorkieonmyPillow, my husband's mother always fixed salmon patties.....`` haHAaaaaaaaa wondering when I will even give it a try. Anyone have a recipe for these?
To @nana59, I copied a great recipe for salmon and scallops, which I'll try with carrots, garlic (recipe) quite a bit of other organic vegetables. Take the plunge!

I get salmon at Cheddar's. It is grilled with a bourbon glaze over rice. It's delicious!
I would never say that salmon has a strong flavor, at least not fresh salmon. Try it. You'll love it!

I just picked up Salmon for a get together on Sunday. The entire family loves my Salmon. I season it with McCormicks Seasonall and garlic powder, lemon juice and melted butter. Bake it with Brocolli and Carrots and it is delicious.

If you don't love fish, I can't imagine you'd like it. It's ok. You don't have to like fish, so why bother with it?

If you find salmon too "fishy" try marinading it in pineapple juice.

@GCR18wrote:@Irshgrl31201 Moving from the east coast to the Midwest was tough. The stores here have their idea of fresh seafood and I have mine. I buy frozen salmon at Costco.
Yes, my relatives live in Oklahoma so I know your struggle girl. I don't think my salmon from Costco was frozen. I also wasn't trying to put down Costco at all because I live there. Fish anywhere can have those. The salmon I got from Costco was in the aisle next to chicken wings. Hope you didn't think I was trying to put down Costco though @GCR18
@Irshgrl31201. No problem. I wasn't thinking that. I prefer the frozen because it's cut into a portion size and ready to go.

@char1976wrote:Our family loves it If your familiar with The Kitchen shown on Food Network they prepared it with a rub using brown sugar and chili seasoning. I baked that way and it was delicious.
@char1976 That sounds yummy! Do you have the recipe for the rub? (Proportions of sugar to the chili seasoning, and any other ingredients). We love seafood of all kinds and I'm always open to new ways to prepare it. 💕

If you like cat food, you'll like salmon. To be serious, I buy it from Schwans Home Delivery because my DH loves it. I manage a small piece every now and then.
