Just wondering if they teach the term "so again", "again" and "an again" in salesperson school ! I counted 14 times that Sunday Riley said "so again" within 10 minutes of her presentation and Susan Graver says "an again" multiple times during her presentations. Many others use the word again multiple times. Any other sales jargon you've heard over and over again? Now be nice, I'm just laughing about how salespeople push items and I wonder if they even realize how much they use certain words to sell products. I could not be a salesperson. hats off to them. Do they get bonus pay for how many items are sold on their show? ![]()

" It's the only order of the year !"

@Goodie2shoes Yes, they get bonus "pay" for how many items they sell. They use to anyway.
What I find interesting, in every single job I have ever done I had a review of my performance each year. No matter what type of job I did. In addition, every single one of them had to give approximately 3 positive comments AND 3 "needs improvement" comments. I have had bosses tell me they couldn't come up with 3 negative but HAD to put something down so they did.
Does QVC not give annual evaluations to the hosts? If not, I believe they should. I think the words certain hosts use over and over and over would be addressed in these observations. Perhaps they do, and maybe these sales tactics work? I'm thinking not but I do wonder why we don't see more variety in vocabulary with some veteran hosts.
BTW, I once had a job I had to video tape myself once a year and turn in for review. After every single taping I would tell myself, "oops, I need to stop using this word or phrase and use something else".
These are just my thoughts but I would think annual observations would be required and needed and the hosts would WANT to improve themselves.

There have been posts about this subject many times. I agree about the constant repetition of words and phrases the hosts use. There are quite a few which I'm sure we can all point out. Whenever fashion is on the word little inevitably comes out. You can wear a little vest, little jacket, little sandals, little tee shirt and on and on to add to the garment. Why use little, are we toddlers! For me it is a turn off, one among many. I hardly watch the Q anymore and the presentations play a big part of that. .

I wonder how many posters who notice the repeats have ever had someone record them of an hour's worth of nearly constant talking and counted the repeats.
I'm not complaining to QVC about the repeats because I know from experience how difficult it is to erase a frequent repeat to keep the word from escaping.
Doesn't affect how much I spend with QVC. I see QVC nearly every month of the year on my credit card. The list of mall stores that once dominated my card month after month? Even once a year is more than most of them now!

So sorry to interrupt, but there are only 20,000 left in small.

I think everyone uses catch phrases in their everyday life. We don't usually notice it unless we are with someone for an extended period of time.
Also, we tend to mimic the language we hear all around us. If you hear someone using a term, word or phrase, chances are, you will use it too.
It doesn't bother me at all. I have traveled a lot in my lifetime. I love to hear how people talk in different areas of the country. Often, I can guess where people are from even in my local area.
Our language is ever evolving. Some words are added and others forgotten.
I have gone to " sales" school more than once. They teach you how to close a sale, handle excuses and use certain phrases to interest your customer, but everyone develops their own style.
If what you say seems to work, then you will continue to say the same thing. It is easy to get into a rut, though.
I find it is difficult to talk about the same thing over and over again and keep it fresh. So, I and everyone else will rinse and repeat.
All the QVC hosts have their own catch phrases. If you watch long enough, they will be front and center. This is normal and not a negative thing.
