I only watch fashion shows .. no idea what goes on elsewhere and this comment doesn't apply to all the hosts.
From my point of view, their trainng is closer to "carnival sideshow barker" and "stand-up comic" school than sales training.

@Goodie2shoes wrote:Just wondering if they teach the term "so again", "again" and "an again" in salesperson school ! I counted 14 times that Sunday Riley said "so again" within 10 minutes of her presentation and Susan Graver says "an again" multiple times during her presentations. Many others use the word again multiple times. Any other sales jargon you've heard over and over again? Now be nice, I'm just laughing about how salespeople push items and I wonder if they even realize how much they use certain words to sell products. I could not be a salesperson. hats off to them. Do they get bonus pay for how many items are sold on their show?
Salesperson school? Do you mean sales training for QVC hosts, or something else?

I remember back in the early 1990s the word SYNERGY was overused and beaten to death in marketing/sales meetings attended. That buzzword still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Fortunately, I rarely hear it now.

Maybe I used the wrong term. Sales training for the hosts may be the actual title. Thanks for explaining

@PickyPicky3 wrote:Yes, they do teach that in communications courses. "Again" and "so again" are signal words that raise the viewer's attention level so they can better absorb the statement that follows.
That's not how I see it. To me, it's an admission that they can't think of anything new to say so they're going to repeat the same tired expression again to suck up time.

Count how many times "Um" is said during a LW presentation. Must be a nervous habit. I don't even think they realize they are doing it. You'd th8nk they would be required to watch their shows as a learning/train8ng opportunity so they know what they need to improve on. If not a requirement you'd think they'd want to do it.

I can remember the fallout when Lisa R. used to say " It's practically free! " She did say it often.
