I have wondered why it was so hazy across central Oklahoma in recently. I didn't know until today that is dust from the Sahara! Another surge of dust is expected in a few days.
Is that crazy or what? It goes to show you how much the jet streams do impact us, but the sunsets are beautiful and the full moon was too!
I don't think it affects the whole US, but if you get a chance see if your sunset is pretty from it.

That dust also blows across the Amazon rainforest and fertilizes it every year.

It's been moving across the US from east to west. We've had it here on the central Gulf Coast for about 4 days, and now it's supposed to be moving on further west. Very hazy and bad for folks with breathing problems.

We have been dealing with the Saharan dust for a week now,I am covered with it, especially my hair, if I spend any time outside. I've will be at or over 100:here for the next 10 days, so I am quite content to stay inside.
