Some one on a purse review was discussing purse safety - hers had been stolen from her car. It makes one wonder how to keep a purse safe. I worked for many years in a situation where we put our purses in our lockers - in an off unit locker room. One day someone came in with bolt cutters and cut off all the locks and walked out with everyone's purses. At the time that this happened I didn't have any credit cards to be taken so I only lost a few dollars and a loved handbag, but many of my coworkers had a lot of difficulty with getting cc stolen. My Mother was walking down the street with her purse on her shoulder and a thief ran by - grabbed her purse and knocked her down then kept running. He dislocated her shoulder in the process. she also lost cc and cash. I have decided it is virtually impossible to keep a purse totally safe so the really safest hing to do is to not carry things you wouldn't want stolen. I NEVER carry a cc unless I am going shopping and I only carry as much cash as I can afford to lose - generally under $50. A great side effect of this is that I don't impulse shop.

Where do you keep your purse at work? Where you volunteer? Do you have valuables in there that would be a disaster to have stolen?

Another thing they say you should not keep in your purse is your SS card or medicare card but if you have medicare for your insurance I guess you need to carry that.
