Sad day

Just heard on the local news that the Humane Society shelter had to euthanize 70 cats today because a litter of kittens was taken in with distemper. They said it is a treatable disease but there is a 90% mortality rate. I know things like this go on every day all over the country but we don't usually hear about them. My heart aches for those poor creatures who never had a chance for a loving home. Such a sad, sad day.
