Sad Sad Day

I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life today. I had to put my very best friend my yellow lab of 13 1/2 years to sleep. Words can't express how heart broken I am. She has been with me through good and bad times. I know it is for the best as she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma on Friday. The vet was me a prescription for pain meds for her to keep her comfortable until I could come to grips with having to let her go. She woke up this morning and couldn't walk on the leg where the tumor was as expected. The vet had advised also that the bone was very thin and could frature at anytime which it had. I can't get the look on her face out of my mind when I said good bye to her. I lost my DH last Christmas and the only comfort I feel is that she will be reunited with her daddy again.
