One of our law enforment officers passed away recently.

He, like all of our law enforcement officers, was semi-retired, meaning, they only work part-time.

He was in his late 60's, and was going to propose to his lady friend, but was waiting for the right moment.

He had a heart attack.

I didn't know him all that well, only through work, but he was a nice, amiable, down-to-earth gentleman, who wouldn't put up with other people's guff.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren.

His name was Mike.

I'll miss ya, Mike, may you R.I.P.

@Plaid Pants2  Sad news indeed.  God bless him and his family.

Getting ready to propose is such an exciting time.  A friend of mine went through the exact same thing.  She was moving to his state; they had plans to get married and just before she left, she got word he had passed away during the night.  She was devastated.

So very, very sad.

Mike will remain in many hearts for the commitment he had to serve others.  I'm sure he'll continue his serving in heaven.Smiley Happy

Very sad news, and much too young.  Sending our condolences to his special friend/fiance, family, and friends.   We are all grateful for his service in order to keep us as civilized and as safe as possible, which isn't an easy task in this day and age.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
