I was walking my dog (pitull mix) this morning when I saw two dogs(pitbulls) running across a major street to get to my dog. I was unsure as to what to do. Then all of a sudden one of the dogs was hit by a truck and the dog just laid there on the street. The truck drove off. The other dog ran back toward the house. Two women stopped traffic to get to the dog. The dog started to get up but he could not move his back end. Apparently, the owner came out and carried the dog back to his house. The two women asked if he would take care of him and he said yes. I felt terrible about the dog but I wonder what would have happened if the dogs had made it across the street to my dog. I think I would have been in real trouble. There was no help or a place to go. I do hope that dog will survive. I feel sorry for dogs who have terrible pet owners. They are the ones to suffer. Did I miss a bullet?
I love animals and it breaks my heart when animals are just let out to run loose. God knows what could happen. I am afraid to walk my dog at times because of the poor pet owners. I think people should not get dogs if they do not have the time or the energy to take care of them.
