Remember Rick Steves, who did/does exotic travel filming? I rarely see PBS, so don't know if he still does, but a lot of his stuff is online, evidently.
What a fun walk down memory lane. He packs so much info about Switzerland, both modern and historic, in a short, entertaining video.
He explores a tiny, remote village in the upper Alps, where farming looks like it gives you a real workout.
The school there groups all ages together, little kids to upper teenagers, and the entire staff consists of a dedicated husband - wife teacher team--
The older kids help the littler ones.
Fun to see the village customs. Those are some cowbells on steroids!
Everyone turns out for Alpine concerts, in the traditional folk costume--
This enraptured little girl in the audience, made me think of Heidi! So cute.
Rick travels out from the village, and goes higher and higher...
Among other places, he traveled to this station in the sky, practically, can you believe it? It looks like an ice castle, or something not even real!
If it's all just too chilly, there are always the lower slopes and the dreamy Swiss summer to retreat to--
Anyway, if you like really informative travelogues, the video pops up if you google:
Switzerland's Jungfrau Region- The Best of the Alps
The only Swiss city I've visited is Lucerne, and that was so dreamy, I've always wanted to see more of this amazing little republic in the heart of Europe.
This would be my ideal living room from which to view the outside panorama.
It's cheating though-- it's in the French Alps! But an alp's an alp.

@Oznell How old are the classroom videos? The computers are so out of date, I am
that they are still working!
I've been to the Alps inSwitzerland many years ago. Breath taking views. I rode a cable lift to top of one mountain. All I had on was a "spring" coat (remember those?). Because the air was very dry, I was not cold which is highly unusual for me. My doctor says I'm a reptilian. ![]()

@Oznell I still enjoy Rick Steves. It is PBS fund raising time and Saturday afternoon he was on with three hour Alps series showing Swiss Italian, and French Alps. I watch his Christmas and Easter around the world every year showing customs of several countries. Type his name into Utube to see his old shows. One of his assistants Sara who takes groups has one on packing tips that is very good. He is often on PBS sometimes with short 15 minute quips between their regular shows.
@Oznell Thankyo for posting!

@Oznell That sure looks like an interesting show. The views are truly magnificent! It kinda reminds me of Gatlinburg, but on a grander scale! Just breathtaking!

The incomparable Rick Steves, I think he is amazing and always enjoy one of his shows.
His shows are still on PBS, I'll record them every now and then.

Ha, @Mz iMac , it is amazing the cold didn't bother you way up there in the Alps in your spring coat. Sure, I remember the 'spring coat' syndrome, I snagged two from Dennis Basso years ago, and can't wait every year to wear them... one's purple and one's turquoise...
Thanks for the tip-offs re his shows, @Gorgf , and @rockygems123 !
@cheriere , I've heard such neat things about Gatlinburg. (Oops, edited to correct my spelling of "Gatlinburg"!) We drove through the Tennessee mountains when I was little, and loved them. Over the line in North Carolina too-- all so beautiful.
@Alter Ego , I might know what you mean about Rick. While very genial, he seems like he would be a VERY energetic traveller and tour guide-- not sure I could keep up!
