I wrote before about my dad being hospitalized and the old nursing home etc. Well the update is;

My dad is out of the hospital and in a "new" nursing home. Its further away but we visited today, and OMG its amazing! Its all newly built and modern and immaculate, the staff is fabulous, the nurses are fabulous, everything. I cant say enough about it. Thank God!

My dad was put thru H the past months in that "other" nursing home and had kidney failure and all due to their not listening when we said he was ill. Thankfully it was now a blessing that he ended up in the hospital so we got him into a new beautiful place.

(when a patient goes from nursing home to nursing home medicare doesnt pay, and so all the homes had long lists, but when he was hospitalized medicare starts over so now he got accepted to the new home)

He even had to have a blood transfusion before he left the hospital. My poor dad went thru so much. His kidneys are still not good and he must have follows ups forever, but now hes doing soo well. What a difference!

He was talking weird for months before he was hospitalized (and we thought it was all the dementia) well it wasnt the dementia getting worse, it must have been because he was so sick in that old nursing home.

Now that he has good care in the hospital and the new home my dad is so much MORE coherant (like when he lived alone!). Hes back to telling us old stories and watching tv again from his bed.

Im so happy I could cry. Ive felt guilty for so long that I am unable to lift and care for my dad because of my own health problems. I havent slept right since June. Well thank God now my dad is getting the kindness and care he so deserves.
