Costco did NOTHING wrong.

@781Florist Interesting observation. I agree...(fragmented sentence, I think that's what you call this).
Also, I guess what irritates us is so individual. We all have our pet peeves.
I know my grammar and vocabulary are atrocious and I've not been taken to task over it so far. Hopefully that will continue....

As others have already pointed out. That has to be for the credit card, which those questions are standard.
She could have just applied for the regular Costco card, and I assume not have to answer those types of questions.
Without doubt this is a difficult time for her, but in this case I do not feel that Costco has done anything wrong.

First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like your sister either didn't realize what she was doing or she misconstrued what happened. These are not membership questions but they are credit card questions. @STYLE, you said the husband was the primary on their card, which infers that's your sister was a secondary. I'm not sure why she couldn't have just changed herself to the primary since it was likely a joint membership. Costco has allowed more than one person per membership forever. It sounds to me like she was applying for a credit card. Furthermore, Costco is very customer friendly. There's no need to bash them when they did nothing wrong.

@STYLE Also. Sorry for your loss.
Yes, I too find Costco has super customer service, must be a misunderstanding.

@MamaWick No I was not aware that all caps is deemed yelling. Learned my lesson!

I don't know why some people are taken to task for one thing while other "rules" are commonly ignored or flat out deemed inconsequential! If online communication is a free for all, then let it all go!
Thanks for your thoughtful post.
I think that most people are just trying to do their best to try and communicate with others when they come here to this forum and they're trying to express themselves.
Unless someone has some type of a disability, others may not realize what a physical challenge it can possibly be for someone else to literally get a post put onto a forum.

@STYLE Why did you feel the need to tell us she owns her home outright ? And I agree with some of the other posters that it was a CC and not a Costco membership card.

@Group 5 minus Why not mention she owns her home outright??????? Didn't think that, too, could be offensive.

@STYLE you didn't even have to respond to that comment. I know you mentioned it because Cosco asked the question about her mortgage.
Over the years a few Posters here have mentioned about paying off their mortgages. Nothing wrong with saying that.
Yes I do believe your sister was applying for a Credit Card and not a Membership Card and maybe she never applied for a Credit Card her own before and did not realized that the questions asked was ok.
