And his former housekeeper of 20 years died in his home. Her sons are suing him for wrongful death, and SC law enforcement has opened an investigation.
"The lawsuit alleges that Murdaugh stated he was at fault for Satterfield's death, planned to "sue himself" and that his insurance company would pay more than $500,000 to her family. But, three years later, the family says they have not received one dollar of that amount."
"The court documents also state that the circumstances related to Satterfield's fall have never been made clear to the family."

And a girl who was killed 2-3 years ago in a boating accident with the younger son, he was driving ‘highly intoxacated’, not come to trial yet. This son was shot along with his mom.
Plus a boy who died a few years ago; his death became a matter of interest when they started investigating the shooting of the wife and younger son.
Oh what a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive.
Can’t make this stuff up!

And add to that, SLED has reopened a case from 2018, regarding his housekeeper who supposedly died in a 'trip & fall' at his home and his handling of her estate.
This web just keeps getting bigger and bigger.....
"On Wednesday, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) launched a criminal investigation into the 2018 'trip-and-fall' death of the family housekeeper Gloria Satterfield and the subsequent handling of her estate.
Satterfield, 57, had been the Murdaugh housekeeper and nanny for around 25 years when she suffered a fatal brain injury following a mystery fall inside the Murdaugh family home. She died several weeks later on February 26, 2018.
More info below but too long to post here:

Does anyone else think the person who murdered the mother and son has a connection to the girl who was killed in the boating accident? Could be a personal friend of her family or a hired hitman...?? ...A revenge killing. That has crossed my mind since the story broke about the double murder.

The girl was a victim of a boat crash in a boat driven by the younger son, while he was ‘highly’ intoxicated. No trial yet, if he had been convicted there would have a wrongful death suit - payment due from family.
The wrongful death suit for the housekeeper was settled at $500,000. Nothing has been paid by the family to date.
It has come to light that the father has embezzled millions from his law firm.
Father allegedly hired a ‘hit’ man to kill him, so the remaining son would receive the insurance payout. Which may be all that is left.
Following the money, I’d say he was in serious financial difficulty, and trying to salvage something for his older son. ?
There is still the matter of a young teen killed in an unsolved hit an run @ 10 years ago. This killing is recently being investigated as somehow relevant to the family.
Given the swath of damage who knows?

Well, Alex was in court today and is out on 20k bail. Supposedly going right back to rehab so he isn't a flight risk and has no passport. So what about Smith, the man he paid to shoot him? Was he also paid to kill Murdaugh's wife and daughter. Murdaugh is a scumbag. He clearly still carries a lot of weight in the law enforcement community there, so 20K is pocket change for him.

He probably had his wife and daughter killed too. Double life low life who got his way all the time because of his money and "name" in the community.
