Re: SAW AMERICAN SNIPER YESTERDAY!

I have a feeling if every able man and woman were required to serve in our military in some way we wouldn't even be having this conversation. It's shameful that the 1% carry the load for the rest of us.

We sure wouldn't have been in the last several wars if everyone's sons and daughters were shipped overseas:/

And I believe it's less than 1%.

MM is a POS. What is even more insulting is that he tried to make it NOT about CK by later tweeting he didn't say one word about CK or American Sniper. Please, his tweet was an insult to Kyle and we all know it. The fact that he didn't have the b a l l s to stand by his tweet shows what a coward he really is. While lots don't agree with the war, Chris Kyle did his job and he was fighting for his fellow Americans over there not for the politicians over here.

That's why you'll never see the draft reinstituted.

He certainly did that. No doubt at all that he saved more lives than he took.

Re: SAW AMERICAN SNIPER YESTERDAY!

Well. Vietnam was about 50 years ago. Give or take from beginning to end.

WWII about 75.

I think IF you look at many in Congress and many of their sons and daughters . . . you'd have to analyze it over the last decade or so . . . but many do answer the call to service.

Go back and look at the votes. For Iraq.

War is not pretty.

Which is why the Greatest Generation may never be repeated.

Son has been watching Band of Brothers over the last few days DVR'd and just the thought of all those very young men charging off to war. Too sad to think about.

Either stay out. Or get in it to win it.

NO MORE Long Drawn Out decades long wars.

My choice . . .especially when it comes to the Middle East is STAY OUT of it. They've been fighting since the beginning of time . . . and probably will until the end of time.

For me, it is NOT an R issue or a D issue.

And Ground Hog Day on a bulletin board about any of them is really an exercise in futility.

It is what is it.

And the two sides, in America no less . . . will never meet or agree.

Band of Brothers is my all time favorite movie or miniseries. My dad and brother were huge history buffs of all wars esp WW2 and I just can't tell you how much I love this movie. I have it on DVD so I have probably seen it easily about 25 times. The part where they are playing baseball and telling what happened to these me makes me ball my eyes out. When Carwood Lipton died (Donnie Walburgs character) we went to his funeral in Pinehurst, NC.
