If you calculated the actual cost of getting the product to your front door (include the cost to pick your order at the retailer, the cost of tape, box, or bag, the cost of shipping) I believe you would be surprised.  I'm thankful for every delivery I receive!

I have to say I'm not "tired" of it @portofino since I know precisely how much shipping I'm charged. If I choose to pay the S&H, I really don't care how I receive it. If it arrives together or separately I could care less.

I do wait whenever possible for free shipping days but occasionally I buy and pay for shipping.

QVC rates are less than many other places that charge shipping. Like others mentioned, if you were to pay the actual cost of shipping it would be far more than what they charge.

I noticed just before the holidays that the shipping charges at Macy's changed for me as I'm not a Macy's card holder.  I've been shopping around for some kitchen items.  The sale prices at Macy's were higher than the sale price  plus shipping at HSN.

@cjm61  I think anywhere people want to shop is a choice. You are right. There are many reasons people shop QVC, that has nothing to do with cost. I have heard many reasons here I never thought of. But, I do not agree with you that QVC shipping rates are low,  I rarely if ever, ever pay shipping. I pay for returns, except nordies.  As far as cost of clothing here. Unless on clearance, the clothing is overpriced for the quality. There isn't the value for the money like other places. I can shop nordies any day, buy a tee shirt or top at nordies for leases or same, with higher quality and free ship and free return. I just paid shipping at PJ salvage for 7.50 for 6 pairs of pajamas. I can go to Perricone, philosophy anyway get free ship, free gifts, points and 2 day ship.  I also buy made in USa clothing, and free ship, with clothing high, high quality and style... for as much or slightly higher than QVC. When on sale, way less than QVC.

but I do agree...if I have to have something I pay shipping to anyone , lol

I only shop--when there is free shipping, if I shop at all here--am not doing much anymore. I go to other places and take advantage of free shipping and returns altho I think that will become a dinosaur soon.

Re: S & H charges

[ Edited ]

@shoekitty As I stated "QVC rates are less than many other places that charge shipping."

I guess it depends how a person researches products before purchasing. I purchased the items below for my niece. I paid $0 for shipping from HSN and QVC. I shipped them myself in one box by USPS and it cost me almost $20. IF I hadn't ordered with free shipping I would still pay less from QVC/HSN than what I did on my own.

Again, the rates at QVC are very reasonable.

You also have to take into consideration QVC's return policy. You can use any of the items, wear them every day, and return after 30 days. Every other place items must be unused and in original packaging. It depends on what is important to you. I like the idea I can actually try something or wear it to make sure it works and washes well, doesn't fall apart in the washing process.

Yes, it bothers me. I refuse to buy anything that has high S&H fees, especially when I need multiples of an item.

This doesn't work with QVC, but with many online retailers, I choose my items, add my name and address and add everything except my payment.  Then I abandon the website.

9 times out of 10, I get and-mail offering me free shipping.  This has save me a ton of money.

I very seldom ever pay extra for S&H.  There is usually nothing I need that bad.

As proven by several posts on this thread...$3.50 to $5.50 is HARDLY 'High' shipping!!!

As noted by several posts on this thread...we are able to shop on free shipping days.  They had many of them this year.

TRUE, an individual item does not have a high shipping fee, but when you want to buy multiples of the same item, it adds up quickly.

If I purchase 5 items that cost $15 each with a $5.50 shipping fee, it would be  $27.50 for shipping $75 worth of items.

I won't pay that.  QVC used to charge 1/2 price S&H fees on each item after the first.

I buy very little from QVC or anywhere where I have pay shipping unless I REALLY need something.

I very seldom even buy anything from QVC on free shipping days.  Most of what I buy from QVC is household stuff (Dyson vacuum cleaner) and sometimes shoes.  I won't buy clothing or anything polyester.

I like well made top quality things which I don't mind paying for, but I am choosy of where my money goes.

No, I'm not tired of their shipping fees.  I know before I place my order how much the total will be, which is my concern.  Be it in the item, shipping, or taxes, it makes no difference to me.  I have purchased things on sale and paid shipping that were cheaper than when the price was higher and had free shipping.

As for shipping items/orders together, I don't care how they're shipped as long as I receive everything in a timely manner and undamaged.

@cjm61   oh, I get what you were basically saying. Yes, if you ship yourself it's horrible, it is 29 bucks or more.  The UPS nearest me is one of those mailbox type things, where there is extra charge for everything as well. I have paid 34 bux once. Not again. Yes, IF you get free ship fromQVC and they do have it now and then, that is a bargain as well. I was talking sort of about everyday qvc,  I rarely ever, pay shipping.  And a few places I shop have no return fees.  They are faster ship and faster returns.

for years I bought everything from QVC, I loved it. They even used to gift wrap!!! I think many people shop here because of size selection, color selection (that was huge for me).  As I have said I prefer my clothing made in USA,it's not so much a China thing...I just choose to support men and mainly women in my state and country. And I get a better product, in styles I wear. I still believe with sales, free ship etc at other online businesses one can get a better deal. Most of the time. But truth be known, I will pay shipping anywhere if it's something I want, lol. It won't stop me. Well, once it did it was soooo high.  lol lol
