It is not odd it goes with the propaganda against Russia and is a typical stereotype of how much is not known about the country or it's people.

That is Nikita Khrushchev btw and regardless of one's age it is called knowing your history. Not very hard.

As for the insults at any Olympic event the US has done it's share about eastern european athletes for years. Laughable that we should be offended now when it may or may not be done in return to the US and western States.
