He had a very unusual voice, immediately identifiable.  I'm a fan too.

I love Roy Orbison's voice and of course Elvis, who was a huge fan of Orbison and said he had the perfect voice and thought he was the greatest singer in the world.  I don't know about that, but I've been a lifelong fan of both from the moment I heard each one sing...RIP

@goldensrbest,

I watched that same concert earlier this week!   I loved Roy Orbison's voice, and play a CD of his music in my vehicle often; I was very sad when he died.

I love his performance of "Blue Bayou."  I listen to his songs often.

ETA:  My other big favorite is "It's Over."

I love opera and he was doing rock opera long before "Tommy."  JMO--I am a big fan.

I had to google him, and he has a unique voice.  You Tubeappears to have most of his live concert videos so for those who want to see him sing, venture on over to the tube.

Last saturday evening we went to see a tribute to Roy Orbison and the guitar player was actually a member of his band, so he talked about him and their way of life a lot. Then I saw that PBS show on Sunday and realized that right behind Roy was the guy from the show we saw.
