What is happening with Roberta's packing when shipping plants? Thry know how boxes are going to be handled and should pack accordingly. Dirt is out of pots, the identifing tags were in the bottom of the tray in dirt. I have no idea which plant is what color. Not the first time they have shipped like this.

I think they look like they've arrived pretty well.

Well, when properly packaged there should have been clear wrap or these plastic lids that go around the root and cover planter to hold soil it. Personally, I don't know why most people don't go to,local nursery. Except I do know it can be a case of getting there, convenience, and availability. I ordered some Barbra Streisand rose bushes in lavender from a grower back east. They came so well wrapped and anchored it took my husband a while to undo them. lol.
I fo order pond plants from back east, some vegetable starts, and such from all over the country. They are always wrapped beyond expectations. Never once have I been disappointed.
I can only assume, the grower has packers who aren't properly trained, or given the instruction and tools to wrap properly. My daughter Ed used to order many plants from Roberta's, but no more. She quit a couple years ago. They were either dead, near death or totally ruined. Sorry you had to go thru this. Send phot to,avc customer service or better yet the CEO , lol

Roberta 's customer service is poor. Years ago I ordered a plant which arrived half dead. They replaced it -- and the replacement died within a week. Roberts 's then blamed me -- and did so very rudely. I ate the loss and never forgot it and, of course, never ordered anything else from them. So, I now warn others. Caveat Empor aka Buyer Beware!

Funny you should mention this. Today I received a plant from Ultimate Innovations that came just in the box - no clamshell or plastic. Also they sent the wrong color. More time on the phone to get this straightened out.

I also refuse to buy live plants any more from the mail. I bought a cherry tree from QVC that was delivered just in a box, no dirt, no pot, just roots, and it died soon afterwards.
I 100% agree that buying plants in person and checking on their healthiness is the only way to go!
