@KathyM23   I remember when I was little girl, the mailman would deliver mail twice a day at Christmastime.

  Back then everyone sent cards. I used to send 30 or more, now I only send about 12. Many older relatives and friends have passed away.

  Younger people today, don't even send cards. I've never gotten one from my 5 adult grandchildren in their 20's and 30's.

@EnufstuffWe do get cards from younger people but they are all cards with pictures of their family, not the Christmassy images that used to be on cards.

@Enufstuff Some of these family photo cards are ridiculous.  Please just send me one nice photo of everyone.  I don't need a card filled with tiny photos of all the things they did and places they went in the past year.  I don't care what they did or where they went.  I would just like to see one photo, large enough so I can see their faces.

My few bills are all paid online so I don't care how high they raise their rates.  Just like the airlines & gas people will pay it.

With the price of stamps rising again, try Beaverlabstamps.  I have ordered from them three times now with no problems.  100 hundred forever stamps for $27.50, with tax, $31.92.  They have many varieties to choose from.  Everything  from patriotic to holiday.

I also remember when growing up we sent lots of Cards and also received many. We decorated with them. We would put tie cords from one end to the other along  the walls and hang the Cards with the pictures facing front. That was so much fun and so festive.

Those were the days!!

@Sage04

we hang ours from louvered doors in our home.

they are on display and everyone can see and read them easily.

I sent only 18 cards this year, and received 14. Down quite a bit from last year, but I didn't cut back due to the cost of postage; I cut down due after hearing some of my recipients felt "obligated" to send a card to me after receiving one from me. I never want anyone to feel they must send me a card.

I can think of only one free-standing Hallmark store here that is still in business. Their Christmas ornaments are sold at Target, WM, and other stores. If shipping costs go up, they will just add part of it to the price of what your buying also. I hate to think what QVC will charge for shipping now...they have always been one of the highest anywhere, especially when you add the cost of returns...which is definitely not free as so many people still insist.
