Two things I remember: Surfer Girl was introduced on Dr. Kildare (Yvette Mimeux) was the Surfer Girl and he narrated the bio on TCM of Claude Rains. Rest in Peace.

@Group 5 minus 1   I remember that episode with Yvette Mimeux on Dr Kildare ,  it was called Tiger Tiger and he sang on that episode. It was all filmed on the beach as I remember .  Somehow I was able to watch that series probably 10 yrs ago would like to see it again

I am 72, I remember it well, Yvette's name was Pat and she had epilepsy, I think she died in his arms while surfing. The 2 of them were such a big hit they went on to make the movie, Joy in the Morning in1965. Yvette has also passed away.

I have never seen Dr K in reruns, but would love to. Also, Ben Casey.

Was a fan of his show.  I recall selecting that night of the week as my reserved ironing night.  Watched as I ironed 😍

Thorn Birds is a great book too.  Of course the 🎥

I loved him in Centennial (which I own and rewatch at least once a year), as well as the old Dr. Kildare.  I didn't get to see Thornbirds, since I was working nights when that came on.  I really liked him.  Wasn't he in a movie called, "Joy in the Morning"?

Am sorry to hear that. He was one of my faves--remember Dr Kildare??? I do barely --was a kid then and loved him in the 3 Musketeers and OMG--and the  Thorn birds--- I must have read that book 10 times after the TV show. Haven't heard about him in many years.

I think he was retired and lived in Hawaii.

Sad to hear. He was a very talented and handsome man.

@Hoovermom    ETA I, too, had the "doctor " shirt in elementary school.  All the girls had one.  In retrospect, it must have been amusing for the teachers to look out on a sea of them.

I also have his LP.  The one with "Three Stars Will Shine Tonight".

I loved Dr. Kildare and bought a "doctor" shirt like he wore LOL.   My favorite series with him was Shogun, watched it several times.  RIP!!!

He would have turned 91 tomorrow. He has been with the same partner since 1984.
