After 3 seasons of undying love for David, Victoria makes this one throwaway comment about him not being who everyone thinks he is. I thought it was the writers way of trying to lend believability to the David killing Conrad scene.
Someone mentioned how it looked like David was wearing mask. To me that's exactly how a dream sequence might portray a person. And why would Conrad be walking along a country road, shedding his priest garb, and SINGING? All classic (and bizarre) elements of something you might dream.
On the other hand, I wouldn't put it past them to totally rewrite the show (again) and have David return as a bad guy. It would make Amanda's revenge agenda pointless and I think I would actually stop watching. To have her now target her father for revenge, because basically he would have ruined her life, is not something I want to watch. I hope they have something better in mind for next season.

They love working with the actor so they haven't figured out too much in the future. David Clarke IS back. This is the jump the shark moment, in my opinion. I plan on watching, but mainly because if Nolan. He's awesome! It's sad; it feels like the writers don't know what the next part of the story is suppose to be.
This is what happened to "Lost," which started out the first two seasons as one of the best drama series on TV (second only to "The Wire" on HBO). The writers lost interest. They then hired new writers who destroyed the storyline.
However, "Revenge" has never been on the level of those two series, so it doesn't matter as much to me if it goes off into nonsense. They might keep Conrad alive because they like the actor? Sorry, but that's not art. My bet is the actors are fed up with it and don't care what they do anymore.
And David Clarke is alive? Ridiculous. And yes, I will still watch it, as I did "Lost" until the bitter, idiotic end.

So they are saying David Clark is back really?? Oh well that is jumping the shark. I realize that this is basically a night time soap opera and soaps do whatever they want but the whole theme of this show from the beginning was that Clark was practically a saint and now Emily's whole purpose in life and thus the point of the show is going to be changed. Not going for that.

Maybe they only plan on having one or two more seasons so they are starting to wrap it up.
