First of all I am sad about the news earlier today about HSN.
I ordered from LE recently. Needed to return some items. They have a very slick and efficient way in handling their returns. No return labels needed. No taping up boxes. You simply start the return online. They send you an email and give you the names of places to drop your merchandise off. You show the clerk your email. They scan the code and the merchandise. Off it goes. She said it's like Amazon returns. They go back to a different place in one big box. Refund is almost instant. The process is called Happy Returns. Once you start the return process you have 90 days to get it returned before they charge you a return fee. I was very impressed today.
Perhaps others should look into that process.

QVC also does QR CODE returns, but you do still have to put it into a box and tape it up. no label needed. UPS or USPS will print out a return label from your phone. refund is not instantaneous though.
No Printer, No Problem!
Returns Are Easy with Your QR Code
Select the item you wish to return below. You can print a return label or receive a QR code. Just take your package to UPS or USPS, show the associate your mobile return (QR) code, and they’ll create the label for you. You don’t need a printer! Get started today or visit FAQs.

@Seminole2. This is very similar to the system QVC has using a QR code you scan, t hen take it to any USPS or UPS store. No label or wrapping needed.

@Seminole2 LE will still deduct the return fee of $6.95 from your refund unless you are exchanging the item or the item is defective or you select "Merchandise Credit" instead of checking"Original Method of Payment" for your refund.
Be careful because if nothing is checked LE will issue a merchandise credit and then the return fee is waived.
The 90 day is just a timing return window for LE.

This method may have been around but not used by all vendors.
More are getting on board with the QR code method.

I am not happy with Happy Returns. I used that service to return an item to Coldwater Creek. The item and original postage cost me $69. I returned it to my local UPS store. The receipt they gave me had no tracking number. It stated that I should contact the vendor for follow-up. I never received a notice that the item was received or that I had been refunded. I waited about a month until I contacted CC.
Turns out I didn't realize the refund was in my bank account because there was such a discrepancy between the amount I paid and the amount I was refunded......$39! That's $30 to use Happy Returns.

Happy Returns does not charge return shipping. The rates are determined by the vendor. HR only interacts with the vendor, not your bank/method of payment.
Coldwater Creek has high shipping rates to the customer. I believe it starts at $14.95 and rises up as the cost of your purchase increases.
The return rate is $6.95.
It sounds like you had a high non-refundable shipping rate to you.
Coldwater Creek would only refund the cost of the clothes, not the shipping you paid to receive the clothes. Then the added return deduction to your refund of $6.95.
If you disagree contact Coldwater Creek because HR does not charge a fee.

For those using Happy Returns:
You receive an email confirmation in minutes so I wait for it on my phone before I leave.
HR does not charge any fee. Your vendor does. HR does not involve in refunds.
It looks like $6.95 is standard for many vendors.
Remember too shipping costs to you are non-refundable.
I think some are confusing who is charging return fees.
Wait for the minute or two to make sure your item(s) were accepted for return. You'll get the email before you leave the HR store. You can check on your phone.
You can request a printed receipt too.
If you have a problem your vendor has to be contacted, not HR.
I've used HR quite a bit and never had a problem.
