Just an FYI as I have never had this happen before (that I recall anyway).  I always use the return labels that I print off from their link.  (Too much trouble to figure out how much it weighs etc. to skip the label).

I returned an Isaac Mizrahi jeans which were great but didn't fit me.  They charged me over $10 for the return.  When I called CS she said it was the return charges.  Again, I know they charge for that but before they always gave the $6.95 as a separate charge.

This time it was included in the refund.

Now I want to keep an eye on my card statement to make sure they don't charge me label fee again.  No problem if the want to do it this way but I hope they don't double charge.

THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT.  Just an FYI.

@Beammeupscotty  I use their return label and the 6.95 + 3.50 comes off the refund.

That is the way my refunds have been.......deducted from the amount I paid for the item.

It may be that they charge a separate fee if you ordered on something like five easy pays, and one single easy pay that they initially charged to ship it to you is not enough to cover the return charge. But if you paid in full when you made the purchase, there would be enough in the refund amount to subtract the shipping charge.

Interesting.  Thank you.  This item was a full charge not easy pay.  In the past they have always sent me a separate charge for the $6.95.  Maybe it depends on who is working the return desk LOL.

@Beammeupscotty - I've actually had it happen both ways.  It may depend on whom does the refund.

I don't make a lot of returns unless something is defective, but I've had some that deducted the return fee from the refund amount.

In another couple of instances, I had a refund of the full amount only to later find a separate charge for the return fee.

I admit it's confusing and annoying to have to constantly watch what's being done.  It should be consistent; one way or the other.  You're right to make sure you don't get charged twice.

Re: Return charges

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

There's not any business of any kind that I use without monitoring the account. Just this week as we moved into a new month, 2 companies that I never had any issue with joined my naughty list.  Very tough to tell whether I was dealing with a rogue employee or the company policies.

BTW - The company with which I don't much like the resolution is a huge tech company and I'm likely to face the same issue again.

With my returns they refund me the full amount minus the original shipping fee and then charge me separately for the &6.95 using their label.

Unless it's damaged & I won't be charged for the return,

I'd rather donate the item.

They make money off the return & then make money again after reselling it.

I'd rather someone else gets a really good deal from my donation.

It's rare that I get the return fee charged separately.  Normally my return credit is for the purchase price minus any applicable shipping charges.

I did just have a return charge billed separately for an item I had returned that was not what I ordered.  So I did have to call customer service, who immediately issued a refund for that erroneous charge.
