I think it would be good for you. I am retired and wish I could find a part time job. I have gotten so lazy being retired and not on a time schedule. And I'd like to keep my mind and body active.

I think it says a lot that you want to return to the office environment you retired from. The mindset of knowing you've already put the hardest years of working in, and the hours you work now are more for socialization will make this more relaxing and enjoyable. I truly hope you enjoy the experience of working because you want to.
As close as I was to my coworker's, I honestly would not be able to make myself go back to work in the office I retired from. The day I left, I opened the door to step outside, but paused in the doorway to "shake off the stress" before I walked to my car. I knew I was stressed, but did not fully realize the level of stress I carried until I was out of the hospital environment for several weeks. My former coworker's say the drama and stress has only intensified in the years since I left, which makes me feel very sorry for them to still be in that environment.

I worked more than a year and a half past retirement age. I was still feeling well and enjoyed banking my entire SS check! Unfortunately, when I did retire, RA was diagnosed six months later, so I never really had a chance to enjoy it. Have had autoimmune issues ever since and pain every day.
However I realize that I'm lucky to have been pretty healthy for 66 years. Not everyone is so fortunate.

Who might they be? My study tells me people are healthier being around domestic animals. I disagree with they.

Hi @hckynut
I just read that those studies that tell us it's healthier to be in communication with people don't necessarily apply to those with higher intelligence. I suppose we can take from that as we choose! (I also prefer domestic animals.)

I'm coming up on retirement in a few months. I'm so excited to have the time to do the things I want! Can't wait to NOT have to multi-task every minute. I'm looking forward to being lazy! ![]()
I am hoping to trailride several days a week, I want to learn to knit, want to read books from beginning to end without having to set them aside for "work" related commitments. I'm hoping to visit my son often. He works in another state so we don't see him enough. I'd like to travel to the 20+ states I've never been to. I could go on and on. Most of my friends are already retired but I took 9 yrs off when my children were young so I had some catching up to do.

It sounds like you have some nice plans. I think you’re going to love it. ![]()
I walk every day in a nature park and do wildlife photography. Nature is ever changing so I feel like every day is a new adventure. Not only does it keep me active, but for me there’s nothing more peaceful and soul renewing than nature. I know things can always change but for right now I love my retired life.
Congrats on your upcoming retirement. Enjoy!
