I bought a piece of costume jewelry from a retailer who specializes in that sort of thing. Paid with a cc. Yhe sales clerk asked for my phone # which I gave her. then she asked for my name. now something is not sitting right with me so I asked why she needed it. She responded that she was adding me to their database. I said Absolutely not. I don't want to be in your database. She looked surprised and said "oh don't worry we won't sell your information and it will make it easier if you want to return something without a receipt.". She never asked me or even told mw what she was doing. If I had not questioned her I would have been in a database without even knowing it. Does anyone else think this is not right????
