Food prices, whether you cook at home or dine out, have gone crazy. Extra things are no longer an option for a lot of people. Go back 4 years and compare. Gosh, we were better off.

We were basically in lockdown four years ago...@Sapphiregal.

Yeah, I remember "lockdown", but, that was temporary.  We're talking food prices here and that's not temporary - they will never go back down. Surely,  you would agree that they were much less 4 years ago, so yes, we were better off. More money in our pockets.

And 4 years ago, were they more than they were 8 years ago?

Re: Restaurant Quality and additional fees

When I was first married we shopped for food with five dollars for the week. That's all we could afford at the time. But we were ok. This was forty years ago and prices have gone UP since then as has everything else. Never down.

Re: Restaurant Quality and additional fees

We have been trying deals that some places have. Last week my husband and I went to Chili's and had the 3 for 10.99 deal.  There are different selections you can make off a list. I got a full size burger, fries a house salad, and drink...sure enough it was 10.99 and delicious. Hubby upped his deal to 14.99 and got the huge sampler platter with southwestern eggrolls, hamburger sliders, boneless wings, his choices if sauces, and tea. They have a 17.99 deal as well.

Look for those deals...many restaurants are coming up with their own version.
