Think of all the hardships that could have been avoided if N95 masks had been available to any and all citizens who wanted to wear them.

Compared to businesses closing and jobs lost and schools closed and not forgetting lives lost, masks are pretty darn cheap.

We should not have to be scrambling to make our own masks.

I read somewhere that masks and other PPE items have expiration dates.

@Nuttmeg Sometimes an expiration date is just because US law requires it but I wouldn't wear a mask that was very old because it's too close to my lungs.  That's my personal preference, they may be good to go for years past expiration date.  The other stuff, I would use.

I'm a big believer in having a Life Straw.  i actually have three.  Lifestraws have an expiration date but in actuality they are good to go no matter how long they have been in storage.  But US law requires an expiration date so they are sold with one.
