if they ask for my email address when unsubscribing I never fill it in because I think they just pass it on to someone else

So I just delete them and send them to junk mail

That's what I do.  After registering for the KitchenAid sweepstakes here at Q, I started getting lots of emails from HSN (several each day).  When I clicked on "unsubscribe," it took me to HSN's website but there was nowhere to confirm the "unsubscribe."  So I started sending them to spam and they eventually stopped.
