Report from “my” Target, Sunday

I made a quick trip to the Target closest to me after lunch.  A quick in and out and I stayed at the front of the store.  It's NOT a Super Target.

They had tons of Bounty and Brawny and Up and Up paper towels.  Full stock.  Limit 1.  And that's one, regardless the size of the package.  If it is a single roll, you can buy one.  If it's an 8 pack, you can buy one.

They had a fairly good supply of Kleenex and other facial tissue.  Limit 1.

For toilet paper, almost none.  They had four 4 packs of Scott and two 4 packs of their Up and Up brand. That was it. Limit 1 package.

Paper plates and cups were totally stocked.

Dishwasher detergent- they had "some" packages of Finish brand and only one small pack of Cascade.  Cascade Free.  Other than that, the Cascade was empty.

No wipes.  They had a few bottles of bleach.  I took a glance at regular cleaners and saw some bottles, but didn't pay close attention.

between this Target and the Publix across the street, Cascade seems to be consistently out of stock or close to it.  I bought the large tub of cascade from Costco online a few weeks ago.  92 little packets.

Oh, and laundry detergent looked like a good supply.

Re: Report from “my” Target, Sunday

I don't venture into the stores lately but I was able to get toilet tissue and paper towels at walmart.com and dishwasher detergent from costco. I got the costco brand, which I have never tried before and I like it as much as I like the finish. Basically I have been getting everything delivered either from Walmart or Costco. I did buy the chicken fried chicken on QVC but have not received it and it has been over 1 month since it was the TSV.

With the meat shortage, I decided to see how much Maine Lobster tails were these days. I was able to get some through overnight delivery for about $13 each for a 5-6 oz lobster tail. That is an excellent price. I was glad to get them. I live in Florida but I grew up in New England and Maine Lobster is a staple there.

I decided to treat myself today for mothers day since this is the first mothers day without my mom and I don't have any children. I am treating myself.

A priest once said "Mothers day is a day for us to honor all woman" and when I think about it, I have been a mother of sorts to many people and of course my animals.

@gidgetgh, have you checked out some of these items on Amazon. Maybe their supply of TP and PT might not be high, but you might be able to find some of the others, maybe even put them on subscription.

I'm starting to find that supply is starting to catch up with demand in most things in my area.

@suzyQ3 - thanks. I'm in really good shape on all of these.  I just felt like posting.

From Costco online (I have no desire to actually GO to Costco right now) I have been able to buy a large package of Scott tp, the huge thing of Cascade and our favorite Kirkland Kitchen Trash bags. We were running low on trash bags and I was thrilled to get delivery on those. A box of trash bags is 200 bags.  I just opened the box last week.

the reason I went to Target was to get Coke Zero Cherry Vanilla. They keep it in the coolers by the cash registers.

If you are need of those items there are many places online that are selling them now. Google the item. I was happy with staples, boxed, and cleanitsupply.

Re: Report from “my” Target, Sunday

I have ventured into a few stores. Target and Trader Joes and Aldi and CVS and Walgreens.

Target has the best price for a number of items and they do not deliver them.

We went to where my mother lives (in a condo) yesterday but we stood 15 feet or so away from her and with masks on in the lobby. She is 87 and has health issues (not this virus) that she has had for a few years. Made her some goodies. She has one of my siblings as her caretaker.

It is hard on her as she is used to seeing some of her children (there are 7 of us) or some of her 12 grandchildren on mother's day.

She has not gone out but for one or two times when necessary. My brother does her shopping. She watches mass on TV.

Thank goodness for that and the phone.

But I did order some fruit and veggies for her and she loved it.

Re: Report from “my” Target, Sunday

I stocked up on many items in February.   I'm a germaphobe and always keep wipes, sprays, hand sanitizers, etc in good supply.

Then the world went crazy.    I've had better luck finding specific items at smaller stores, like Dollar General or at my local, not chain, grocery stores.

@software  yep.   Places that your wouldn't necessarily expect to be a great source. Like the Walgreens near me.  Treasure trove.

@gidgetgh

My wife is 1 happy lady today. Our "regular Target's" Starbucks opened today. Me? Yea, she can now spend $6 for a cup of Joe! I will stick with my "free" from the hospital and my  Folgers and Tastle' Instant, maybe $0.15 a cup?

But boy is she happy. 😍😍
