I had a friend who tossed her receipts before she got home. She wanted to get rid of any evidence that she'd been shopping. When her husband asked if something was new, shed give that, this old thing? She had packages delivered to school. (she was a VP so had her own office)

I am curious, why if she was a vp and made her own money it mattered if her husband knew?

Like many couples of my generations, they pooled their money and shared household expenses. She spent A LOT of money. Back then most stores had their own charge cards, Every month (at lunch) she'd lay out all her bills, then pay the minimum. She was driving them (in her BMW convertible) into the poor house.

That is sad, isn't it......to make all that money and be in the poor house.

Re: Removing a clothing security tag

I don't think this situation is all that unusual. I know it's happened to me several times. I'm often careless with receipts, I stuff them in my bag or wallet and heaven knows what happens to them. I just take the garment back to the store where I bought and ask them to take remove their device. I have never had one single store refuse. Probably because it's their FAULT.

Re: Removing a clothing security tag

I agree with the other posters that said just call the store, ask to speak to the manager of that department, and explain it. I cannot imagine them giving you any difficulties in bringing it back to have the security tag removed. Mistakes happen, and while frustrating, sometimes those tags are in the most inconspicuous places. The funny thing is that, it's there to be a security measure, and yet you were able to take the garment home without it setting off the alert. For sure it is inconvenient that you need to return to the store, and perhaps they could issue you some discount on that purchase, or a coupon towards a future purchase for your hassle. I wouldn't try removing it myself, whether it's the ink type or not. If you don't have the proper tools, it can damage the clothing, and then the store won't be responsible.
