I no sooner got home, logged into Facebook, and read news bulletins by all the major networks, that remains had been found and were confirmed to be Hannah's. What a weird feeling, as I'm not psychic in the least. May she rest in peace.
I've had my local news station on much of the morning and they are still saying that the remains have yet to be confirmed. (I'm in the metro DC area.)

Well, it is somebody's daughter and that is always sad.

Ford: I have to disagree with you. A deal sometimes is the only way to locate the bodies of these victims.
I would certainly want to know where my daughter is; alive or dead. I don't know if there is a death penalty in that state but I'd rather see a life sentence than not know where my child is even if I did want the DP for him.
There never is closure for these families; burying a child is just incomprensible.
If found guilty, he will never see the light of day again.

The guy they are holding hasn't yet been charged with murder yet, has he? I haven't heard that he has.

This is heartbreaking!
Just so sad and it makes me so angry that the guy they have in custody isn't talking!
Make him talk!!!

There are other cold cases in the same area . . . he may well be responsible for all of them, since they are all similar. If he's a serial killer, he needs the death penalty and I believe I did hear at one time that is an option in Virginia.

I believe the charge is kidnapping and defilement.

Ford: If he knows the location of other daughters, then a deal is quite realistic.
Ted Bundy was kept alive for the same reason - that and he was a poster child for studying serial killers for profilers.
In the end, Ted was executed but at least the families of his victims were able to have their daughters back for burial.
This person may indeed get the death penalty in the end but a deal to keep it off the table can bring some daughters home, even though only for burial.

no, I think he is being held on kidnapping charges. They probably are waiting to see if his DNA is on her, then file murder charges.
