We each have had a unique set of past experiences that have molded how we view and interact with the world. Perhaps the other person has pieces of the puzzle that we are missing. Perhaps we have pieces they are missing.

Nicely put.

Stella: It's been said/thought that it was in the bible, but was removed around 553 AD. (Probe.com) Well, anything was possible way, way back then. Look at all of our thoughts, beliefs, and viewpoints right now, and who knows who will believe what we are thinking, a thousand years from now. It's all so mind-boggling to think of life a thousand years from now.......

I was just thinking pretty much the same thing in that each of us sees the world in a slightly different way, even when observing the exact same incidents and experiences. Our interpretations of them are not mirror images of the other.
This often comes up in law and legal matters with witnesses, etc. Ten people can witness the exact same incident and come up with ten different interpretations. It's precisely why so many guilty go free and innocents get convicted. And nobody's lying . . . they all believe they are 100% right.

Romary, I have always believed that we are all in for a great surprise when our life on earth ends. Top minds are of the opinion that Religion, Science, and Mathematics all point to One Truth - and we will know that one truth at some point. I do believe that our purpose here on earth is to LOVE - love with our whole hearts, love the oppressed, the downtroden, the forgotten, the sick, those who have offended us, those who have sinned! Love unconditionally! Love is the greatest thing we will ever learn and I believe, this is the basis for most if not all religions in the world.

My deceased mother sometimes experienced things before they actually happened. She used to say it was like viewing a movie in her mind. And these things would happen down to the most minute detail. I believe that is called deja vu! So I am open to these occurences!
That would be clairvoyance which is a type of precognition. Deja vu is the feeling you get when you experience IRL what you had previously learned through procognition.
Exactly right. I was trying to think of the word and you pinned it!

For the posters who made statements regarding the church and existence of reincarnation-you are correct, although, you would need to take into consideration it was not all, but a Pope somewhere in 200-500's AD-It is well documented for those with an interest--I'll refrain from details as I'm afraid it may get into an area we aren't permitted-though it entailed the belief that the soul would be "reincarnated" after death in order to become one with the "maker." Which is a bit different for certain other religions/philosophies.
To the individual who believes in reincarnation but is afraid to speak to your priest-I'd encourage you to have a dialogue with him if you wish-I think you'll find him open and non-judgemental with respect to your questions-If you wish.
I grew up with an aunt who was a Catholic nun and an uncle who was a Catholic priest and studied myself for a year in the convent before studying Taoism-
I discussed it all-with a lot of yeah but? ![]()

Just for fun people. No harm meant.

I keep an open mind about things like this. So many unanswered questions and many jaw dropping situations. Mainly because there is so very much to life and death that we just do not know. We would like to know, we try to know but there is nothing that can be weighed and measured in order to tell it is so... or not so.
All we can do is marvel at the stories.... and wonder how a child so young could possibly know what he knows...?

I don't discredit any of these stories told here, although I've never heard of them before, but they do seem facinating and could be true.
I just personally have never had the feeling I've ever been here before.
I've had de ja vous before, but it's like a fleeting moment and I can never connect it to something that might have happened before my lifetime.
It's usually something 'up to the minute'.
