Romary, yes as a Catholic, the church in it's earlier days did believe in reincarnation, but dropped the belief sometime during the 16th century, I believe!

@Noel7 So true! None of us knows everything. At least to me, it seems like so many people want things to be "black and white" and are positive that everyone either views or should view things the same way they do. Nope, not the case. We each have had a unique set of past experiences that have molded how we view and interact with the world. Perhaps the other person has pieces of the puzzle that we are missing. Perhaps we have pieces they are missing.

@maestra

According to Betty Eadie, not only is each cell imprinted with a genetic coding, it is also imprinted with every experience we have ever had.  Wiki

Disclaimer: I studied Jung years ago but to me he was more philosophical and not what I was interested in.

Carl Jung was about Archetypes which is different: "Archetypes constitute the structure of the collective unconscious - they are psychic innate dispositions to experience and represent basic human behavior and situations. Thus mother-child relationship is governed by the mother archetype. Father-child - by the father archetype. Birth, death, power and failure are controlled by archetypes. The religious and mystique experiences are also governed by archetypes. "

That is simply not true. All of the Early Church councils and  Fathers denied it

@stellabystarlight

I have had some pretty strong episodes of deja vu.  While they don't scare me, they do throw me off a little and it hangs on for a bit sometimes.  A few of them happened in places I had never been before.  I look at them as phenomenons in the brain circuitry.  I think they are fairly common.

However mine were always geared toward something that I experienced in the past, not something that would be happening in the future.

Sorry, but this is nonsense. On the other hand, for decades my friends and acquaintances have said if there is reincarnation, they want to come back as my dog. I admit that my beagles led charmed and spoiled lives.

@Vivian

It's nonsense to you, but there are major religions who have believed in it for a very long time.  I say that with a reminder not to go into the religious aspect.

@Noel7 People have believed in "religion(s)" for  a very long time....but there is no proof that religion is not just nonsense as well... no more than big foot or UFOs.  People like to believe in the supernatural.

I guess I wasn't clear @SeaMaiden

IMO, it is important to learn ABOUT other cultures and their beliefs, whether or not we believe it.

Since a lot of people and cultures believe it, find out what and why.  It's all a part of education.  I never said it makes it true.

That would be clairvoyance which is a type of precognition. Deja vu is the feeling you get when you experience IRL what you had previously learned through procognition.
