I am happy to hear you stood your ground. I will not shop at stores with that policy. The manager was wrong...your purchase was not defective...they are counting on the individual who will take what they dish out and not be willing to go to battle.

I recently purchased shoes online that states free shipping and free return shipping.

The shoes were cute but ran small so I had to return them. I went online and filled out the return form to receive a return label and I was charged $7.95 to return the shoes. They only way to get the return free was to have a store credit when shoes were returned. Kind of shady in my opinion.

Even though I always try to select VERY carefully, I return a lot of things ..... and now make it a practice during checkout to always ask the cashier "what is your return policy?".

Believe it or not, you don't always get the same answer at the same retailer.
