Apparently, selling some of their more profitable publications and websites in didn't help enough.
Plenty of magazines are now online only, but there are also many that have been able to sustain readership of hard copies. The very nature of Readers Digest--an untimely rehash of popular stories, columns, and articles, may be its undoing. I guess I could put this in the things-I-didn't-buy/use/read-but-would-be-sorry-to-see-gone category.
