I'm hope they can move the thread in tact to a forum for long time threads. I would hate to see all the pics, poetry and bantering gone away forever. To all Pancake lurkers, pls drop by and say hi.On 8/4/2014 Q_spirit said:On 8/4/2014 dmod nj said:On 8/4/2014 dooBdoo said:By the way, for anyone interested the blog post about the possible changes from the QVC Community Team is still open for comments:

Thanks dbd.yes thank you. i will look. (-:
You're welcome, Q_spirit! As I said, I thought it might be helpful for those who didn't have the chance to participate in the original surveys.

croemer, I admire your patience and restraint. You hit the nail on the head. Well said.

My first thought as well.

No different than the posters who brag about constantly buying new furniture, painting, redecorating. Talk about ego! And of course they have the best taste in the world when it comes to home décor. The "it's all about me" does get sickening.
I agree with you RN.There are threads started by people because they are suffering, worrying, hoping. Nothing about egos. What harm is that if it's the same thread that posters respond to?
Then there's the other threads you mention, blah blah blah blah blah blah........
See, there are always going to be the persons who see the glass half-empty- "Its all about ego"? What does that EVEN mean? I will tell you what it must mean to you, you look at those threads and feel EX-cluded- Most look at them and feel INcluded...think about it...

I'm not understanding what you mean, moxie, and I'm trying to. How can you be hurt if you choose not to open it once you see it's not something you're interesting in?
And, I have to tell you, calling the dialogue ridiculous could be one reason why you felt excluded from the thread. Insults don't normally endear a person to others.

I took QVC's explanation to mean that the threads would be closed to further comments, but allowed to stand. I think that's important, because some people reference them and it can be fun to go back and read prior posts to those who were participants in those threads. Also, it brings back memories of posters who have gone for one reason or another. In other words, nice, and for some, comforting.
If they cause problems with slowing the forum, that's another issue. I was shocked to read that the majority of respondents voted to close them. I just don't understand why?
Maybe we'll get lucky and some of those posters will give us their reasons.

First, let me make clear that I am not a proponent of stopping the long-term threads, even though I don't participate in any of them. I knew nothing about the survey, and I wouldn't have voted against those threads if I had known.
However, am I correct in my understanding that the threads are not being removed? That they are just closing the commenting period so that it will stop being bumped to the front page?
People who post daily to one another on those threads can still do so on new threads.....and they can bookmark the old thread so that they can go back and read it anytime they want, right?
It's not ideal, I know. I'm sorry for those who are unhappy with this new development.

That's the thread I'll miss the most. Sure, they can start a new one, but there are many photos in that thread that cannot be replaced. I think it's very sad that QVC is getting rid of them.

They should be more concerned with dead threads that are bumped for no reason.
