Rant ๐Ÿ’‡โ€โ™€๏ธ

I had my monthly hair appointment this morning, and I witnessed some ba d behavior that is still bothering me, so I'm ranting to you .  My stylist is the nicest, most accommodating , talented person. Her crime ?  She is raising her rates by $ 2.00. First of all , all of her supplies cost more, and she held off as long as she could. The client ahead of me, took issue with the increase  ( it won't go into effect till next time ) and said how dare she raise her prices. This is a professional woman   who knows darn well that my stylist is a bargain. She explained calmly that she had no choice but to raise her rates, and that she could come less often, or try another salon. Believe me she was nicer than I Would have been. People !  When I left the salon I said " don't spend that 2.00 all in one place. "  She laughed.

Sounds like your stylist will be better off without her I can't imagine how she tips!  Being on your feet all day cutting hair is hard work, I sometimes tip as much as 30% and she deserves every penny.

Over $2.00????   Ridiculous.

Inflation has made things cost so much more. We ordered two Burger King meals today and it came to $22.50. However, I think it is terribly rude to chew out any business owner or employee over a cost increase. I'm afraid that customer deserved the "don't let the door hit you in the..." comment from your stylist.

I find a $2 increase to be pretty modest, but I wonder though if it was mentioned at the time the appointment was made. Some people don't like surprises.

I have a big mouth and probably would've said something ignorant to the other customer.  In a pleasant voice.

Unfortunately, I don't think of the best things to say until way after the fact.

@Etoile308 , She was alerting us that the increase would go into effect next month.

@Etoile308   The OP said its not effective until the next visit so it'll be no surprise.  Today was a warning.

People like that should just cut their own hair. I bet she's an awful tipper too.
