I'm in the process of reassessing all the ceramics I own, made in China esp., and educating myself on the lead/safety issues (as usual, lots of confusing info out there, but there are some general rules of thumb to go on, at least.) I've read many threads here on lead in products, debates on certain Q lines vs. Made in USA brands etc, and things like Fiestaware, Le Crueset, Corningware & Pyrex (esp. older versions) all come up with high reviews from owners. Though there is no 100% verdict even on USA brands, anything imported and even older china I hear now. Heck...I don't know WHAT to keep using...as I have ceramics from Italy, English bone china, dinnerware from Germany. So I'm just concerning myself first with ceramics (esp. a few cheap random items), or any that have crackled, made in China.

I'm specifically wondering today on Rachel Ray ceramics...as I have one I got for Christmas I'm not sure I'm keeping (the TSV square set). I do not see any quality statement on RR's stuff online similar to the one Temptations put out, about safety and QC standards used in regards to lead etc. Does anyone know of one? ..or can shed any light?

I have other random items I'm reassessing use of too...but will save that for another post for now..

Tks in advance, anyone who can help.

ps. I'm not really getting "crazy worried" over everything...just trying to sift through some basic info. I do have a Rachel Ray lasagna baker I will probably still use. I think if items are in tact they should be ok.
