One truly entertaining man, I was saddened to hear of his passing. If you aren't familiar with him, check out his routines on NetFlix or YouTube.

he was funny

It’s too bad he let his job define him.
Unfortunately his ‘routine’ of self-deprecation
created his final ‘mic drop.’ Hopefully his death will
somehow inspire fans who are in his physical condition
to change before it’s too late.

I read that he performed in Las Vegas while he had pneumonia. Wonder why he wasn't hospitalized?

@sidsmom, ??? 'his physical condition' ???
Ralphie May's rep gave a statement regarding his death ...
“Ralphie had been battling pneumonia and had cancelled a handful of dates over the last month in an effort to recover. Earlier this morning at a private residence in Las Vegas his body was discovered, cause of death is cardiac arrest.”

It's too bad that there is always some who uses a death to preach to others .

He was hilarious. I first saw him on Last Comic Standing in 2003 and I’ve enjoyed his comedy ever since. I will miss him ☹️

RM's morbid obesity caused his cardiac arrest. Tragic.

Did some poking around. There are cardiac arrest/pneumonia connections, but the age of the victim is not listed but they usually mention the state of the patient before the cardiac arrest:
The study highlights important issues regarding the monitoring of pneumonia patients at risk for cardiac arrest, but it also raises some questions, said Brett Fenster, MD, a cardiologist with the National Jewish Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
"As a cardiologist, my first question is how many of these patients had some form of heart problem that was either undiagnosed or diagnosed but underappreciated? The abstract doesn't address cardiac comorbidities — the presence of coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, et cetera. I'm sure this will be a common question of the authors," Dr. Fenster said. (Medscape)

If you’re healthy, you shouldn’t suddenly die of pneumonia.
Mr. May was morbidly obese for the better part of his life.
You’d be a fool to suggest his weight didn’t play a factor with
his pneumonia, then cardiac arrest. When you’re 300-400-500lbs
overweight, just slow walking could fail a heart. Stuns me how
people don’t want to address the elephant in the room....
dying at 45 & being morbidly obese is not OK.
Unfortunately, we’re going to see more & more of this.
People are going to say ‘its DNA, drugs, genetic conditions, etc’.
That could be true for a cardiac arrest, but the AGE is the striking thing.
Even Tom Petty dying at 66 of a cardiac arrest is not normal.
It just shows a level of Self-Care is not being met.
