@rockygems123  - Why was the OP making offensive posts just because some were asking who this person was?   I don't know him either.

@San Antonio Gal

Pretty much what @Kachina624 said, OP didn't like being asked to provide information for clarity on her post.  Could have been simple but the claws came out.  Ha see what I did.

Dr John McDougall passed away in his sleep last night. He was 77 years old. I pray for his wife and family. He loved his family so much!

@Sweet Kitties I stumbled onto his & his wife's food plan when I tried the Esselstyn's eating plan. Both vegetarians. Mcdougall's was more strict, IMO. They both made thier rounds on the talk shows in the 90's I think. I did follow the "firehouse  challenge ' by Esselstyn. ( I watched on You Tube and purchased used books on Amazon) My blood work improved a lot and I lost about 5 lbs. I just could not stick with completely  not eating meat or dairy.

I watched them on You Tube fairly recently. You can find about anything there, when interested. Like anything if not interested just ease on down the road.

TY for posting. I often wonder about how diet /food/exercise gurus depart. I recall how the 'running/jogging ' guru --Jim somebody died of a heart attack I believe before he turned 50.

77 years old seems like a long life unless it is a loved one or oneself.

I don't ask questions.  If I'm interested I Google for answers.

His diet only kept him alive for 77 years.

Not impressive considering that now it's not uncommon for people to live to 100 and beyond.

@occasionalrain I always chuckle when I see a 100 + year old interviewed and asked for secrets say something like "I ate bacon every day , a large shot of whiskey, and only exercised when I walked to restock."

Hi @Sweet Kitties   Thank you for this info abt Dr McDougall.

Im not sure if I'm aware of Dr McDougall, among the plethora of advocates of Healthy Living.  In any case, Im sure his books, info & recipes, are still being offered, for a look-see.  I try to keep alert to Healthier Living devotees, & addt'l ideas for healthy recipes, so I welcome yr info here.  Thank you!.

As with @Oznell    I'm always on the hunt for great Healthy Soups, esp Plant based, & tasty.

Unfortunately, with this recent move, I donated my beloved, quite used Pressure Cooker, instrumental in re-creating many such researched guru healthy Living Masters.    Woman Frustrated

I've even learned some super meals, esp soups from the restricted Gary Null, 1 specifically made with ?N Beans (& added Cashews, in lieu of meat)  amazing how there's no discernible awareness using nuts, cashews, as soup alternatives to meat.  (warning: I think this particular recipe/book is buried in my book storage, ref: recent move)

Alotta hard work required in these Healthy Gurus & sharing their kind info with us.

Thank you @Sweet Kitties  for this awareness.

May Dr John McDougall's life been a blessing both to himself & for others.

As long as you eat like the cows and horses you'll be fine.

Drink water till your floating. Broccoli, no pastry, no candy, no meat, no bread, no sodas, no ice cream,

Just whole grains, raw vegetetables, whole fruits, oats,

bran, no dairy, very few eggs, forget bacon,.

Just watch the livestock and that's what U can have the most of.
