I recommend it.

Oh @Noel7 she was so good in this movie and I just found out today that she played Liberace's mom in "Behind the Candelabra".  I was shocked as I didn't recognize her at all but she played the part perfectly!

At your recommendation, I just found it on Netflix and am watching it now.  I'm just terribly saddened by the loss of Debbie Reynolds.  This was the one, this month, that totally took me down.  Smiley Sad

I have been down any how, with all going on in the world,  just one thing after another, scared of 2017.

When I heard about Miss Reynolds passing the day after her daughter my heart broke. They were both such good actresses. My heart goes out to their families. I can't imagine what they're going through. My prayers are with them.

@JustJazzmom I think the thing that amazed me the most about this video is that Debbie had no dance background when she was assigned this film (back in the studio days) and Gene Kelly wasn't happy about her casting . . . they locked her in a studio for three months to learn how to dance and what an incredible job she did alongside her well trained partners and I am sure they were all happy with the outcome as that is one of my favorite movies of all time . . . Heart

Yes, it's one of my favorite movies too for many reasons.

Years ago,  I heard/saw in an interview that Gene Kelly (who I also loved) was a perfectionist. He made Debbie practice the dances over and over til her feet bled!!

Debbie did a great job playing Jewish mom to Debra Messing in Will and Grace.

What a fighter she was, being so independant after Eddie left her for her BFF, Liz. What an eternal triangle that was in 1959. His BFF was Mike Todd, their son is named after him.

Oh!  Just a little while ago today I was thinking about how much I LOVED Debbie Reynolds as Grace Adler's mother.   It was just the perfect pairing and it made an already great show even greater.   I really miss the characters from Will & Grace!

Too painful to even think about.  Despite their friction through the years, Debbie and Carrie apparently had established a loving peace.  They appeared -- in the last several years -- to treasure one another and have a profound love for one another.
