He also designed for Madonna, Lady GaGa, Beyonce and Merryl Streep:

A great look on her: He designed Meryl Streep's gown for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards at the Kodak Theatre in 2010

Merryl Streep in his design for the Academy Awards in 2010.

A show stopper: And he made this gold leotard for Beyonce in 2009

Iconic fashion: Other A-Listers Chris worked with include Madonna and Lady Gaga as well. Pictured in 2011

Re: RIP: Chris March-Project Runway, 56

@QueenDanceALot  Note: Comments speculative since we don't have all the details.

Yes, he died from a heart attack, but it was likely secondary to the fall, itself.  Heart attack is often the primary cause of death on death certificates, when it is, in fact,  secondary to other events.  It would depend on why he had the fall.

If he truly was lying on the ground for 4 days, with evidence of systemic organ failure occurring, this is critical.  His cardiovascular system was assaulted, too, and he may have even sustained cardiac damage, if he didn't already some. Even the fittest would have serious consequences of being down for 4 days.  I've seen these patients, with life altering outcomes.  I'm surprised he was able to survive such.

And, yes, we are seeing an increase in health related issues with our young population, from obesity, diabetes, HTN and other issues.  I was reading an article recently where the military is having difficulty recruiting because far too many of those seeking to join are so unfit and obese, they can't pass the basic physical assessments. Of course diet plays a significant role, but the growing sedentary lifestyle of many young today won't correct, even a micromanaged, perfect diet.

There are many ways that people not taking care of themselves becomes a problem for all of us.  It's heartbreaking to see preventable deaths. And, sadly, if this continues to escalate it will not be sustainable with our challenged healthcare systems.

I didn't know about either Mychael or Wendy.  I am sorry to read this.

I watched every single Project Runway during it's years with Tim and Heidi.  I've since fallen away, but remember Chris fondly.  May he rest in eternal peace.

Re: RIP: Chris March-Project Runway, 56

this is from his go fund me page that was created in march of 2018.

you can read about some of his medical issues on there.

“I have recently run into several setbacks in my recovery, the biggest one being that my medical insurance went up over 500% at the beginning of 2019. I am also in need of leg braces, specialized physical therapy, a hearing aid, and a new living arrangement. Where I am now is unbearable and makes me anxious and depressed every day. I have considered suicide many times. I have tried my best to make strides. There is a long road of physical therapy ahead of me. In December I was awarded disability, but California gives 95% of it to this facility, which leaves me with $52 per month. In the face of all my setbacks, I try to remain positive—the leg braces are an exciting new tool on my road to recovery. I am trying to get my tracheotomy removed, and I try my best to effect positive change in this facility for myself and all the residents here. I try to add humor, glamour, and a little glitter to my world.”

I agree. From his own words it sounds as if the stress in his life due to financial worries could have contributed to his death. Look at what he said about suicide. His situation sounds very sad, and so many people live it every single day.

Leave the poor man alone, his death is not a proselytizing opportunity. His situation and death makes me sad.

My Mom died from cancer. If anyone even tried to blame her for her death I'd go full on ballistic on them.

@Greeneyedlady21This type of behavior is nothing new for the OP. On Wellness, Type 2 diabetics are given lectures  on how they choose to be sick because they do not eat a plant based diet. They are told they cause their illness and want to be sick. I shudder when I read it because I am a Type 1 diabetic who knows many Type 2 diabetics who never caused anything and they never chose to have diabetes.
